This Privacy Policy explains how TECHNEST collects, uses and protects your personal data when you visit technestsolutions.co.uk, place an order, or contact us.

For the purposes of the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018, TECHNEST is the data controller of your personal data.

2. The personal data we collect

  • Identity and contact details — name, billing address, delivery address, email address, telephone number.
  • Order and transaction data — the products you buy, order value, delivery method, order history, returns and refunds.
  • Payment data — we do not store or have access to your full card number. Payments are handled by our payment providers, who send us only a confirmation and the last four digits of the card.
  • Account data — your login credentials, saved addresses and preferences, if you create an account.
  • Technical data — IP address, browser type and version, device information, time zone and operating system.
  • Usage data — pages and products viewed, items added to cart or wishlist, and how you navigate the site.
  • Marketing preferences — whether you have consented to receive marketing, and your opt-outs.
  • Communications — the content of emails, contact form messages and support enquiries you send us.

3. Why we use your data, and our lawful basis

Lawful basis: Consent for non-essential cookies; legitimate interests for aggregated analysis
Securing the website and investigating misuse
Lawful basis: Legitimate interests in keeping the site and its users safe

Where we rely on legitimate interests, we have balanced those interests against your rights and freedoms. You may object to this processing at any time — see section 8.

4. Cookies

Strictly necessary cookies keep your cart, session and checkout working, and do not require your consent. Analytics and marketing cookies are set only where you have consented, and you can change or withdraw that consent at any time through the cookie settings on our site or your browser controls.

5. Who we share your data with

We never sell your personal data. We share it only with providers who help us run the shop, each acting under contract and only on our instructions:

  • Shopify Inc. — our e-commerce platform and hosting provider.
  • Payment providers — to take payment securely and screen for fraud.
  • Couriers and fulfilment partners — to deliver your order and process returns.
  • Email and marketing tools — to send order updates and, with consent, marketing.
  • Analytics providers — to understand how the site is used, where you have consented.
  • Professional advisers, law enforcement and regulators — where we are legally required to disclose, or need to establish or defend legal claims.

6. International transfers

Some of our providers are located outside the United Kingdom. Where your data is transferred abroad, we make sure it is protected by a safeguard recognised under UK data protection law — either a UK adequacy decision for the destination country, or the UK International Data Transfer Agreement, or the UK Addendum to the EU Standard Contractual Clauses.

7. How long we keep your data

  • Order and transaction records — 6 years after the end of the tax year in which the order was placed, to meet HMRC and consumer-law requirements.
  • Account data — while your account is open, then up to 12 months after you close it.
  • Marketing data — until you unsubscribe, then a minimal suppression record so we do not contact you again.
  • Support correspondence — up to 3 years after the enquiry closes.
  • Analytics data — normally no more than 26 months, aggregated or de-identified where possible.

8. Your rights

Under UK data protection law you have the right to:

  • Be informed about how we use your data — this policy.
  • Access a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
  • Rectification of inaccurate or incomplete data.
  • Erasure of your data, where we have no continuing lawful reason to keep it.
  • Restrict our processing, in certain circumstances.
  • Data portability — receive your data in a machine-readable format, or have it transferred to another controller.
  • Object to processing based on legitimate interests, and to direct marketing at any time.
  • Withdraw consent at any time, where consent is our basis for processing.

To exercise any of these rights, email pateljay210196@gmail.com. We will respond within one month. Exercising your rights is free, and we will not treat you differently for doing so. We may ask you to verify your identity first.

9. Complaints

Please tell us first if you are unhappy with how we have handled your data — we would like the chance to put it right. You also have the right to complain to the UK regulator:

Information Commissioner's Office (ICO)
Wycliffe House, Water Lane, Wilmslow, Cheshire, SK9 5AF
Helpline 0303 123 1113 · ico.org.uk

10. Security

Our site runs over encrypted HTTPS connections, and payments are processed by PCI-DSS compliant providers. We limit access to personal data to those who need it. No system can be guaranteed completely secure, so please do not send sensitive information such as full card details to us by email.

11. Children

Our shop is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has given us their data, contact us and we will delete it.

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy to reflect changes in our practices or the law. We will update the "Last updated" date above and, where the change is significant, tell you directly.
